Instructions: Eye Exercises (Pen Push-Ups)
These exercises are designed to train the coordination between your eyes and strengthen your eye muscles. Please follow the instructions below carefully.
The Exercise: Pen Push-Ups
Instructions (Step-by-Step):
- Sit comfortably in a well-lit room.
- Hold a pen (or your thumb) at arm's length in front of you.
- Focus with both eyes on the tip of the pen. You should see one, clear image of the pen.
- Keep focusing on the pen and slowly bring it closer, towards the bridge of your nose.
- Continue to see the pen clearly and as a single image.
- As soon as you start to see the pen double (or the image becomes blurry), stop.
- Hold this position for 2 seconds, then slowly move the pen back to arm's length.
- On the next repetition, try to bring the pen slightly closer before it becomes double.
Training Schedule:
- Repetitions: Complete 10 full repetitions per session.
- Frequency: Perform 1 to 2 sessions per day.
- Best Time: It is best to do the exercises in the morning when your eyes are fresh.
⚠️ Important Notice: What to Expect
Just like training at the gym, you are now training your eye muscles. It is normal for symptoms such as headaches or fatigue to **temporarily worsen** in the first few weeks. This is a sign of muscle soreness and not a cause for panic.
Do not give up! It is crucial that you persevere.
Follow-Up and Next Steps
The key to success with this therapy is consistency.
- Persevere: Follow the schedule faithfully for at least 4 to 6 weeks.
- Assessment: After this period, we will re-evaluate the progress together.
- What if it doesn't work? If there is insufficient effect after this period, or if the therapy remains too strenuous, we may consider a **prism eyeglass** as the next step.
