Referrals to Zeker Zicht
INFORMATION FOR GENERAL PRACTITIONERS
Starting January, Huisarts+punt will offer an optometry clinic in collaboration with Zeker Zicht (location: Zorgplein Osdorp).
The indications are in line with a regular referral to the optometrist:
- Gradual vision loss
- Glaucoma screening with familial history and elevated eye pressure measured by the optician < 30 mmHg*
- Dry eyes/sandy feeling/tired eyes
- Complex refractive error or challenging measurement from age 8
- Inconclusive fundus photo for DRP
- Screening for DRP
An accredited optometrist will conduct comprehensive eye examinations. She can consult an ophthalmologist as backup if needed. After the consultation, feedback will be provided to the general practitioner via an Edifact return message (within 3 days).
This consultation aims to deliver appropriate care in the right setting, reducing pressure on the ophthalmology department (and thereby reducing wait times). There are no costs associated with this consultation for the patient, as the care is provided within general practitioner services.
