Why screens are hard work
Reading on a screen is different from reading a book. Screen characters are made of pixels, which have blurred edges. Your eyes have to constantly refocus (accommodate) to keep the image sharp. This micro-focusing happens thousands of times a day, exhausting your eye muscles.
Signs you are suffering from CVS:
- Eyestrain or tired eyes.
- Headaches (especially above the eyebrows).
- Blurred vision when looking away from the screen.
- Neck and shoulder pain (often caused by leaning forward to see better).
